Thought I would share a few fun picture books I have read recently. Hope you enjoy them too!
CHARLIE THE RANCH DOG
by: Ree Drummond, Diane deGroatPublished April 26th 2011 by HarperCollins Publishers
Charlie is a busy dog with all the work to do on the ranch - keeping the cows off the lawn, sniffing the porch clean, fixing fences, helping with the garden ...
But he takes it all in stride as he shares a day in the life of a Ranch Dog.
I really enjoyed this book, especially the pictures. It was an interesting twist to have the entire book told in Charlie's voice. I also loved the fun relationship between Charlie and Suzie, the other dog on the ranch. The pictures really said it all! They pulled me right in and kept my attention. Fun read!
THE BOSS BABY

The Boss Baby - Need I say more? He's in charge, and he knows it!
Marla Frazee is one of my favorite illustrators, and this book showcases her amazing talent. Parents can enjoy this humorous look at a baby as the CEO of a large "company", while kids will love the craziness of the baby's demands.
THE PERFECT GIFT

Published January 1st 2010 by Arthur A. Levine Books
Little Lorikeet finds a beautiful strawberry and decides to take it to her grandma. Unfortunately, it falls into the river. Lori's animal friends try to help her, but through a series of adventures the strawberry is lost. With no present for her grandma, Lori and her friends make a present that is even more special.
I loved the forward moving motion of the adventure in this story. Every action leads to another action and continues pulling the reader along. The animals are so cute and lovable, they pull at your heartstrings with their reactions to events.
