Perfect Picture Book Friday - Mr. Duck Means Business

Welcome to Perfect Picture Book Friday! Today, I’m kicking off my inaugural post for this wonderful idea. I hope that my posts will be a help to those who love picture books and want to share them with their own children or those they teach.

MR. DUCK MEANS BUSINESS
Written by: Tammi Sauer  Illustrated by: Jeff Mack

A Paula Wiseman Book (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers) 2011
Fiction for ages 4-8

Themes: friendship, sharing, compromise

Opening and brief synopsis:
Mr. Duck lived by himself at the pond.
Each day he followed a tight schedule.

Mr. Duck loves his schedule. He gets up at the same time every day, stretches his wings, fluffs his feather and glides across his pond. But one day his schedule is disrupted. How will Mr. Duck deal with the other farm animals invading his space?

Why I like this book:
Tammi writes in a very succinct and simple manner, making it easy for kids to understand. I loved all the action verbs used when describing Mr. Duck, and the illustrations fit so well with the story. The ending was great!
