I'm back a little early from my blogging break, simply because I have some fun news to share. Last night I had the opportunity to meet one of my favorite picture book authors, Kelly DiPucchio! She was at Nicola's Books in Ann Arbor sharing her new picture book, Crafty Chloe. Here we are:
It was so exciting to meet Kelly in person and talk. I just love her writing and the subtle messages she inserts into her stories for kids. Here are a few links to my thoughts on some of her books:
I am so grateful for the opportunity to meet and share with Kelly. The writing community is filled with wonderful and amazing people! I would also like to give a shout out to Nicola's Books. It is an amazing bookstore and their children's department is HUGE!
Be sure to stop by next week on Monday for an amazing middle grade book I want to share with you. On Friday I will be part of a blog tour for a brand new picture book by another favorite author of mine. I will also be giving away a signed hardcover of the book.
On another note, I've been pretty successful with my personal goal of writing for five minutes every day. Some days it is only for the five, but other days it is much more. But no matter what, I'm writing and that's what counts!
And as a reminder, if you would like to receive my blog posts via email, sign up in the box to the right. See you next week!
Awesome that you got to go. Are you going to the Brandon Mull book signing on Thursday? I should be there.
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you're getting some writing done. Me too.
Book signings are awesome! I go to as many as I can simply to glean knowledge from them. And kids ask AMAZING questions of authors; I learn from them too.
ReplyDeleteNatalie! My daughter and I just saw and talked with Brandon Mull on Saturday! Have fun!
Good for you guys!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I love a good picture book. I'm so with you there.
That must have been a fun day for you! Thanks for all the review links Jennifer. Congrats on your writing schedule, 5 minutes sounds very doable.
ReplyDeleteso awesome that you got to meet one of your favorite authors!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE Crafty Chloe. I was able to review it for the Sacramento Book Review, so got a very early look at it. Chloe is such a great character, I'm sure there will plenty of more books about her. Good for you for getting to meet the author.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I love CLINK. And CRAFTY CHLOE! Meeting a favorite author is always fun. I'm happy for you!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on sticking with the 5 minutes a day or more.
How neat to meet the author. We enjoyed Gilbert Goldfish after your recommendation. We'll need to check out the others too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun event! I love book signings. I'm just catching up on my blog roll after my own blogging break. I really enjoyed your review of Love, Aubrey. I feel both tempted and reluctant to read a book on such a tender subject.
