Yep, I finally did it. I'm now on Twitter. I'm still not sure exactly what I'm doing, but I'll figure it out. If you would like to follow me: www.twitter.com/J_Rumberger. Any advice is welcome! Wish me luck!
I'm following you, but I have no advice. I am the most boring person on Twitter. I tweet my blog post link, enter my dog in contests, and send her picture in to the local news. Besides that, I am a total lurker. I will suggest, if you want to laugh, that you follow HonestToddler. Hilarious.
congrats! i find twitter to be super helpful -- but it can become time consuming, so learn how to create lists! drop me a note if you want a quick primer :) will follow you now -- i'm captaincarey!!
I find I tweet in bursts. Someone told me once that Twitter is like a giant cocktail party; Facebook more like a dinner party. The thing about Twitter is that it's ephemeral. If you're not on Twitter at the same time, you probably will not see your friends' tweet. I would try it out for about ten minutes a day, at different times, and see what sort of interesting tidbits come up. (And yes, I'm ow following you!)
Thanks for all the tips! I'm definitely seeing how much of a time suck Twitter can be, so I'm trying to be selective and sensitive to how much time I spend on it. Gina - Thanks for the list idea, I'm going to have to check into that! Michael - I love the cocktail party/dinner party analogy!
Awesome Jennifer! I'm planning to join in the next month and will definitely follow you. Please share any advice as you learn about Twitter.

ReplyDeleteJennifer, I recently joined Twitter too! I'm still figuring out how it works, so if you find out anything useful, I'd love to know about it!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I am a new follower- and still learning every day. :)
